Build Responsibility in Children
In years past, children had to help with the family business or on the farm. They often had to watch younger brothers or sisters. Today, some kids seem to have no responsibilities at all. They watch as much TV as they want. They stay out as late as they want (even in grade school). They wait to do their homework until their parents nag them...or they don't do it at all.
Then these children get to be teenagers, faced with making decisions about drug use or sexuality, and WHAM! They don't know how to make responsible choices because they've never had to make them.
Children need to learn responsibility. And home is where they need to learn it. As a parent, you have a critical role to play in helping your child become a responsible adult.
Responsible children do better in school. And they grow up to become productive, responsible adults. I will be sending our ways for you to help your child to become a responsible child in the upcoming weeks,

Clothing for School
According to the SCSD2 student handbook, students must wear shirts and dresses with sleeves in them and all shoes need to have a back on them. I have noticed several students this week not adhering to this policy. Parents, please make sure that your child is dressed appropriately for school. Your help is greatly appreciated.
