Are These Students Really Second Graders???
Wow! I am so impressed daily...even hourly, by what these kids can do! This week they amazed me by their level of metacognition (ask your child what this word means) while reading! In just a couple of days, they were able to use their schema (again, ask your child about this!) to help make connections while reading. They were able to make connections to self, to other texts, and to the world around them! Very impressive for beginning of second grade! :) I was also amazed by how they handled the new technology, Animoto, we are using to produce our frog and toad videos. They were able to problem solve, collaborate and think critically about their audience and their purpose while creating! You should be very proud!
Thank you so much for supporting our PTO by participating in the Jog-a-Thon!
