A Message from the Principal
Greetings,
What a fun week! Did you hear about the “25 Day Celebration”? All PBIS (Positive Behavior Lessons) have been taught and students who have exemplified our core values had a chance to celebrate outside. Be sure to check out some of the pictures of the GIANT Jenga and Corn Hole. They had a blast. Today we welcomed over 400 grandparents to visit and have breakfast. I hope this gives them a frame of reference for all the great things they hear about Maple. Most were able to visit classrooms, take pictures, tour the school and hike in the Outdoor Learning Center. A good time was had by all and many memories were created. I want to thank all of you for your efforts to support our PTO Walk-A-Thon Fundraiser. This ends today and our current total at 11:00 a.m. is $12,567.55!
I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend! Please remember next Wednesday is a one hour delay day for students.
Sincerely,
Nikki Harrison

Lead Sampling
All ACSC school buildings recently participated in a voluntary State program to test drinking water for lead. This program was offered to all Indiana public schools, and it specifically tests water fixtures that provide drinking or cooking water to students. In our school, the fixtures tested did not present lead levels that exceed the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)’s “action level” of 15 parts per billion (ppb). Please contact us with any questions.
Counselor's Corner
No one knows how far You’ll go screen-free!
Our first Screen-Free week of the year will be September 9-15. This is an opportunity for our families to take a break from TV and other electronics and discover more exciting and healthy ways to spend our time. Students who meet this challenge can win prizes by turning in a note from their parents. I look forward to hearing about your screen-free adventures!

Nurse's Station
Avon Schools use the online service CareDox as a tool for parents to provide medical information. The system enables student immunization information, physical exam results, medication information, and nurse visits to be stored securely and compliance with HIPAA and FERPA regulations. Families are able to access CareDox at any time from their computer, smartphone, or tablet to see their student's activity in the clinic and will receive nightly communication regarding any clinic visits that may have occurred. Please make sure you've signed up for an account with CareDox.
We look forward to taking care of your child during this school year. If you have any questions, please contact your school nurse.
Thank you,
