Principal's Message
Kia Ora,
It was lovely to have our students back at school last week and also seeing children being so happy to be back. It was also great to come together for our assembly for the first time this year on Friday last. For a number of our students, it was their first time.
We had our 3 Way Conferences yesterday afternoon, and again today. Thank you for your support with this. If you haven’t had a meeting with your child’s teacher please contact the school / teacher to make an appointment. It is important for you to meet the teacher and play a part in helping your child to set their goals for this term.
Netball has already started its season and over the next couple of weeks football and hockey start. Thank you to Shanelle and those parents who have helped us organise the equipment and uniform for our teams.
On Thursday 2nd June we will be holding our annual Cross Country for Years 4-6 children in the Redwoods. Please could all Parents and Caregivers fill in the form below
This Monday 16th May school photos will be taken. Children will be taking home information about the purchasing of photos during the week. Children will need to wear their school jerseys with their winter uniforms.
We will be joining JPC for their teachers’ only day on the 7th of June. The focus is ‘Matariki’. There will be no school for children on this day. If you require child care you can contact Maryanne Rolling on 0211 215599
Have a great week.
DIRECTOR OF RELIGIOUS STUDIES
This term the children across all levels will be learning about parables Jesus taught and the messages He shared with his followers. Teachers will be sharing bible stories with children and discussing how Jesus taught through his actions. We use the teachings of Jesus to show us how to live our lives, and share with the children how they can follow in the footsteps of Jesus at home, school and in the wider community.
Our teaching RE team will be attending Professional Development tomorrow with fellow Catholic Schools across our Hamilton Diocese. We will be working collaboratively with other teachers looking at how we can implement the new RE curriculum Tō Tātaou Whakapono - Our Faith into our schools.
God bless,
Sara Mines and Lorna Dobson CO DRS
