HFRCS Newsletter SY2021-2022
September 28, 2021 - Volume 1 Issue 6
From the Principal's Office
Dear Parents and Guardians,
This Friday, our school community will celebrate First Friday Mass on the Feast of St. Therese of Lisieux, the Little Flower. After Mass, we will be installing our Student Council officers and members for the 2021-2022 school year. We will also install our student Safety Patrol. Please come if your schedule permits.
Over the weekend, Queen of the Universe Parish announced that Father John Babowitch will stay on as Administrator of Queen of the Universe until the new Administrator arrives on October 29. The new Administrator is Reverend Michael Mullan. Father Mullan was ordained in 2006 and is currently a Parochial Vicar at St. Joseph Parish in Aston. Father John Wackerman is assigned to Saint Luke the Evangelist Parish, Glenside, as Parochial Vicar, effective October 29, 2021. We send Father Wackerman our best wishes in his new assignment and eagerly welcome Father Mullan as he joins our school community.
Please be sure to read the information shared by our school nurse, Mrs. McKnight, in today’s newsletter. It is very important that you do a health check with your child every morning, and if your child is not feeling well, keep them at home. If your child is being tested for COVID, they are not permitted to return to school until the test results come back, at which time the school nurse must be notified, and appropriate direction will be given at that time. Your cooperation with this is the only way we can ensure the safety of our students. Thank you.
Please see the information in today’s newsletter from Home and School, and please consider volunteering for a H&S event. New members are needed! We appreciate all of the work the H&S does for our students and families!
Sincerely Yours in Christ,
Mrs. Haggerty
Message From the Nurse's Office
For the health and safety of all students and staff in school, parents must be vigilant in self-assessing their children's health before sending them to school each morning. If your child is not feeling well, they must stay home. According to the school’s Health & Safety Plan, students must stay home if they have a fever of 100 ⁰F or higher. Any student with a fever will stay home until they have not had a fever for at least 72 hours without using medicine.
If your child received a COVID test, he/she is not allowed to return to school until the test results are available. Symptomatic students who test positive for COVID-19 must isolate for 10 days from the onset of first symptoms (asymptomatic students who test positive must isolate for 10 days from the test date). Refer to the Archiocese of Philadelphia Cathlic Schools Onward Playbook for more details. Parents should report positive COVID-19 cases to school. Schools are required to report cases to the Bucks County Health Department. For any questions, please contact me.

Pot of Gold Challenge: Have questions? We have answers!
Are you ready for the Challenge? Students received their Pot of Gold packets last week. The first drawing is on Monday, October 4. Make sure your tickets are in!
What is the purpose in having a Pot of Gold Challenge?
The purpose of the Pot of Gold Challenge is to raise awareness among our School families about their ability to receive tuition credit by participating in the Pot of Gold Lottery. Many families have paid a good portion of their tuition
by participating in this Program, and many families learned about the Program through the Challenge.
Are we required to purchase/sell all 25 tickets?
No. You can choose to purchase/sell as few or as many as you can. We are simply providing tickets in the event that you are able and willing to participate.
Can we sell more than 25 tickets each week?
Absolutely! Simply call Mrs. St. John in the school office and she will send home more tickets.
See more frequently asked questions and answers in the attached document. If you have other questions, contact Karen David, Parish Business Manager, at 215-946-4040.
