What is diabetes?
Diabetes is a metabolic disease in which the body's inability to produce any or enough insulin causes elevated levels of glucose in the blood.
Type 1 Diabetes
There are two types of Diabetes, type 1 is also called "Juvenile diabetes" . Type 1 diabetes develops in children and teenagers. With type 1 diabetes the body's immune system attacks it's pancreas.
Type 2 Diabetes
Type 2 diabetes is a non-insulin dependent . It is also known as "adult onset" diabetes. This type of diabetes usually happens at age 35 and up. People with this type of diabetes can form insulin, but it's not enough. Type 2 is usually tied to people who are overweight.
