Peek At The Week
October 22, 2018
Team,
Due to my absence on Friday, we will be meeting as SST/RtI grade levels on Monday. Thank you for being ready on Friday to discuss students of concern and entering them into Platform RtI. Be sure to look at the PLC calendar for the week as there have been modifications.
We are in our 2nd 9 weeks and it can be a new start! Continue to practice PBIS Rewards with consistency. It can truly turn your student management around if you use it efficiently.
TTESS POP cycles should begin this week. When invited by your appraiser, please bring a plan for a date in which you would like us to visit. Be sure to bring your lesson plan and anything else you would like for us to know about your class so that we may coach you to the best of your ability.
As a reminder, our TIP states that we will use a backwards plan for instruction to fidelity by the end of the year. You as a teacher, will design your assessments with assistance from you IC if needed. As for now, however, your lesson plans being up to date and planned 2 weeks out are key!.. Without this being done, then the bi-weekly assessments cannot be written effectively. We are in IR and MUST be proactive! Tier 1 instruction is where we missed the mark in 2017-2018. Thanks in advance for your adherence to the expectation of inputting lesson plans in to Google Classroom, two weeks out.
Last week, we looked at Get Better Faster, exemplars and the importance of student work. We will look at 8th grade exemplars this Thursday during PLC. Also, be sure to include academic vocabulary instruction specifically within your lessons.
This Wednesday, Diana Werner will be on campus. While she's here, we will be looking at the Master Schedule to be sure we are making optimal use of our time on campus. We will also be conducting walkthroughs.

PBIS
In our PBIS store we just got new items in, there are many different things for the students to choose from and buy with their PBIS points they have earned. Including but not limited to yoyo's water balls, stress balls, puzzle balls, and drawstring bags.
Also, Routines and Procedures are key for PBIS to work! Try this....when you greet your students at the door, tell them to put their badge on their desk. Award points for being RESPONSIBLE.
