U School SLAM Poetry Team Debut

You missed it! Jamira R. rocked the stage at the 2016 Philly Youth Poetry Slam KICKOFF event on Friday, Feb. 13 at the Freedom Theater.

The Philly Youth Poetry Movement (PYPM) provides a safe space for Philadelphia teens to discover the power of their voices through spoken word and literary expression.

PYPM offers literary arts education programming for youth ages 13-19 that promotes creative expression, critical literacy, life skills, and civic engagement.

U School's PYPM SLAM poetry team meets on Tues. and Thursday during lunch. See Mr Reed, Ms Date or Jamira for more details.

Remember Our Core Value for the month of February is Responsibility - the opportunity or ability to act independently and make decisions without authorization.

Students should make sure you are responsible with your time. Use time wisely during check-ins, tune-ups, mini-lessons, and on demand assessments to prepare for greatness.
