Thank You for Being Involved in Our School
Dear Whittier families.
First of all, a sincere thank you to our PTA for another outstanding community event, Bingo Night, this past Friday. We appreciate all that our PTA is doing to provide opportunities for our community to get together and enjoy each other's company with students. Seeing our families together at school is always a highlight of our days.
In the month ahead, there are many other opportunities for students and families to be involved in the life of the school. Please consider joining us.
Please see below for upcoming events and opportunities for involvement. Also, please note that we have two hour early dismissal days on Friday, May 6th and again on Friday, May 20th.

Literacy Night
On Wednesday, 5/25 from 6:30-8, Whittier will host a Primary Literacy Night for parents of current Pre-K through second grade students.
This event will provide an overview of:
- what the primary grades Language Arts curriculum looks like,
- what we do with assessment scores,
- what and how we teach language arts,
- what you can do to help your child at home,
- and what programs are available for parents to access through our media center website.
For planning purposes, if you plan to attend, please fill out the Primary Literacy Night Attendance Form.
If your family has any gently used books that you would like to donate to the Book Swap Table, please send them with your child or drop them off at Whittier with a note that they are for Book Swap.
Note some new additions: V-neck shirts, sweatpants, and b-ball shirts!
