Dr. Combs joins the pivot team with over fifteen years of experience in the education field. In addition, she has her undergraduate in Biology, Physics, and Education from Austin Peay State University. She believes that all students can be successful if given the opportunity. "If you prepare yourself…you will be able to grasp opportunity for broader experience when it appears." -Eleanor Roosevelt

Lead Educational Coordinator III - Ashley Ignatius

Lead EDUCATIONAL COORDINATOR II- Ashley Conner

Educational Coordinator I - Joe Caton

I come to you from the state of Connecticut, where a fun cold winter day for kids included sledding down a steep snow covered hill at our high school football field. As you can imagine, you needed thick gloves and a heavy winter jacket to join in all the fun. But on a serious note, I am a high school math education coordinator here at Pivot in Tamarac, and I am looking forward to helping some of you get through your Algebra I end-of-course exams with great passing grades. Some of you will also see me for Algebra II or Pre Calculus. So let's get those scores up this year...

Educational Coordinator I - Helen Exner

I am excited to join the Pivot family as one of your math ECs. After earning my history degree from Lawrence University (Appleton, WI), I became certified to teach secondary social studies and math from Alverno College (Milwaukee, WI) and the University of Wisconsin. For nearly a decade, I worked as a private piano teacher, accompanist and jazz pianist/singer. I’m looking forward to a productive, action-packed year in Tamarac, and I am eager to get to know my students and their unique learning styles.

Educational Coordinator I - Jeff Thevenin

I am a certified English Teacher of grades 6-12. I graduated from the University of Miami with a degree in English Literature. I have 12 years of experience working in the education field, and 7 years teaching experience. I have even taught English in South Korea for 2 years, where I taught English as a second language to middle school and high school students. I am a Reading Teacher here at Pivot Charter school and my model is to teach and learn while having fun. In my spare time I draw, write, read, exercise, play handball and basketball, and prepare for class. My philosophy about life is that education brings excellence out of skills and talent.

Educational Coordinator I - Yoandy Sanchez

Hi Panthers! I was born in Cuba. In 2002, I got my Bachelor of Science degree in Nuclear Engineering. What I did not know is that I would find myself immerse into the educational field in 2005 in Costa Rica. Since that time, teaching became part of my life and I had enjoyed every minute in the classrooms with my students. Now that I move in to the US and as a part of the Pivot family, I expect to do all I can to help our students succeed and get their goals. I am certified in Math and Physics through the state of Florida. The self-fulfilling prophecy, the fact that any situation or issue in life is a learning experience, and adopting a positive attitute to face it as well are part of my own philosophy.

Educational Coordinator I - Aaron Weathery

This is my first year as an Education Coordinator at Pivot. I graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a Bachelor’s in History in 2007. Since then, I have taught Social Studies in Colorado, New Mexico, and now in Florida. In my free time I am usually out playing tennis, basketball, or just about anything else outside. I am looking forward to working with everyone at Pivot this year and know it is going to be an exciting year.
