RHS Newsletter - 1.20.23

Upcoming Events/Reminders

  • Start of Semester 2 School Policy Reminders:
    • RHS/9GA are Nut Alert Schools: That means you shouldn't be bringing foods with peanuts or tree nuts to school. You know this; it's not new information.
    • Dress Code: This isn't too big of a deal in the winter, but here's our policy:
      • No alcohol, drug, or sexual paraphernalia
      • No undergarments showing
      • No low-cut tops
      • Shirt bottoms must rest below the belly-button (ie. no crop tops)
    • Cell Phones in Class: Cell phones must be stored in the phone holders during all classes. You have done a great job with this and the classroom distractions have decreased significantly. Thank you!
    • Attendance: Tardies and absences reset at the new semester. This is a chance for a fresh start. Here's a reminder of the tardy policy:
      • 5 tardies: Detention
      • 8 tardies: Meeting with your academy principal and parent
      • 10 tardies: ISS and loss of parking pass (if 1st or 2nd period)
  • First semester final grades will be available the week of January 30. More information will be shared next week
  • Second semester schedules are viewable in PowerSchool as of today. Please be sure to check your schedule in case any classes changed
  • Next week (Jan. 23-27) is Charity Week: Charity Week Flyer. Please refer to last week's newsletter for more information
    • Thursday and Friday are assembly schedules (dodgeball tournament and pep rally). Students will not be able to leave school early. Any early releases must be

scheduled and communicated at least 24 hours ahead of time (phone call or note

from parent). Early release calls/notes will not be accepted the day of

  • Mr. Bulldog 2023 is cancelled due to lack of interest. This has been a great tradition for RHS for many years. Unfortunately, we have been unable to get enough students to participate so we will not be able to hold Mr. Bulldog this year.
    • With two new fundraising events, the dodgeball tournament and RTC's Noses Off, we expect to raise even more money for charity than we have in past years
