Family Religious Education Program

Catholic Community of Flint FREP Updates for November

Second FREP Meeting Sunday, November 3, 2019

The second meeting of Religious Education classes is Sunday, November 3rd. Families with children should have all homework assignments completed INCLUDING monthly objective sheets for each student in the program. Families should have discussed with their children the topics of Creation and Revelation during the last several weeks.

If any families were unable to complete tuition payments for FREP in October, please see Director of Religious Education (DRE), Maureen Kelsey to take care of tuition payment.

November FREP Theme: The Trinity

During November, FREP families and students will be exploring in greater depth the concept of the Holy Trinity as an important part of our Catholic faith.

High School FREP Update

High School students and parents participating in FREP this year are reminded to return both the parent homework assignment and student homework assignments. Student homework should be posted in the journals that were given to them in October.

Any new students, or parents who were unable to attend the first FREP session in October, books will be provided at FREP on November 3rd and students should be able to "catch-up" in the succeeding weeks without much trouble. We look forward to seeing everyone at FREP on November 3rd!

"FALL BACK" November 3rd at 2 a.m.

Remember to set your clocks back one hour before you go to bed Saturday night, November 2nd so you arrive for FREP at the correct time Sunday morning, November 3rd at 9:00 am (EST)

Homework Pick up When Absent

If a family is unable to attend FREP or sacramental prep, their homework is available to be picked up in the vestibule at St. John Vianney so it can be completed by the next month's session. It is helpful if families understand that families with children should have all assignments completed as requested during the year. As we all know and agree, parents are the first and most important educators and role models of passing on our faith to their children.

Due to budget constraints, it is not possible to mail homework to students who miss class. If you have any questions, please contact the Director of Religous Education, Maureen Kelsey at the St. John Vianney Campus Office at 810-235-1812.

FREP Corporal Acts of Mercy for November

At our November FREP meeting, we will be collecting canned and boxed non-perishable food items appropriate for a Thanksgiving dinner.

Items such as canned green beans, cream of mushroom soup, boxed stuffing mixes, canned sweet potatoes, instant potatoes, turkey or chicken gravy, etc., will be appreciated. Our collection will benefit the St. Luke NEW Life Center food pantry.

If there are other non-perishable items a family would like to bring, that would be great.
