Picture Retake Day!

  • Thursday, October 7th ~ Picture Retake Day 9:00AM-10:30 AM. All students who were absent on picture day will be taken. If you did not like your child's first picture, please email dhillman@seasidek12.org so we can be sure get them on the list for retakes.

Parent teacher conferences are coming up soon! Our teachers are looking forward to meeting with each of you to share your child's progress & set growth goals for the school year!


Due to the School Health Advisory for Continuity of Instruction our conferences will be held virtually, via Zoom or by phone. Please see more details about this advisory below. To accommodate all of our families, appointments will be limited to 25 min per teacher. Translators will be available.

Friday, October 15th ~ Zoom Parent Teacher Conferences from 8:00AM-12:00PM

School Health Advisory for Continuity of Instruction

To maintain the continuity of instruction during school this year, OHA and ODE are issuing the following School Health Advisory, to remain in effect statewide October 2 – October 31, unless otherwise updated:

Schools should hold family events (open houses, meet the teacher nights, carnivals, fundraisers, etc.) online, rather than in-person. If events are held in-person, hold the events outside, ensure all participants wear masks, and maintain physical distancing of 6 feet to the degree possible.

New Clothes from the ALCP

Operation School Bell

Assistance League of the Columbia Pacific is known best for their program, Operation School Bell which provides NEW school clothing to students in need in K-12. The program serves all five Clatsop County school districts; Astoria, Warrenton-Hammond, Seaside, Jewell and Knappa. The ALCP clothe students two times per year; once in the Fall and again in the Spring. We partner with school Counselors, Principals and other school staff to decide who will participate, typically using the Free and Reduced Lunch program as a guideline.

Our specials this year are on a 6 day rotation due to several grade levels having 6 teachers. Your child's teacher will share with you what days their specials land on. Each week I will share the specials rotation in this newsletter.

Absent Work for Students

If your child will be absent for two or more days...

Please email your child's teacher if you would like work for them to do at home. Your child's teacher will get a chrome book & work ready to be picked up in the front office.

When to keep your child home from school

We are SO excited to have students back on-site 5 days per week for the entire school day! In order to continue to be able to keep our doors open to all students we need your help! If your child has any of the below symptoms, please keep them home until they are 24 hours symptom free without medication.


In addition, if anyone in your household is sick, please contact a healthcare professional for guidance. You can also reach out to our school nurse, Mrs. Tobi Boyd if you have questions. Her contact information is included in this newsletter.

Lost & Found

Please help us!

Our weather is often cool in the morning and warm at recess. Students often take sweatshirts, sweaters and jackets off and then forget to pick them up. Our recess staff give many reminders, but we still have a few items that go unclaimed.


Please help us by writing your child's first and last name inside of sweatshirts, jackets and any other items (water bottles, etc.) so we can get them quickly returned to your child. At the end of the month we will donate unclaimed items without names.
