TR Students Receive Superintendent's Awards

Congratulation Isabella Gonzalez! Isabella has been the Technology Student Association President for the past two years at the Engineering and Technologies Academy at Roosevelt High School. She founded the Active Minds Club where students have an opportunity to discuss various youth issues, as well as support each other through mental health issues, and learn about self-care. She also helped start a school-wide campaign to identify teachers who were willing to have an open door to students struggling with mental health issues.

Congratulation Abraham Martinez! Abraham is a student at Roosevelt High School. Being short-staffed on custodians is an unfortunate truth for many of our schools, and Abraham took notice of this. He started cleaning the courtyard during his lunch time and even after school. Abraham is not a member of a club or organization – he just decided to help entirely on his own. Not only is he making the custodial crew feel appreciated and supported, but he’s also serving as a great role model and influence on his fellow classmates. When asked why this is important to him, he said that the courtyard is beautiful, and he wants to keep it that way.

***Important Reminders***

Student Dress Code

As the weather gets warmer over the next few months, we're spotlighting our district's dress code expectations and policies. Please be sure your student is in compliance. The link below will lead you to the Student Parent Handbook. You will find dress code information on pp. 95-97 of the Student Parent Handbook.

Closed Campus During Lunch Periods

Roosevelt High School, along with other NEISD campuses, are closed campuses, including during all lunch periods. Students are not allowed to leave the campus for lunch at area restaurants and return to campus. Doing so may result in disciplinary consequences. All students at Roosevelt High School may receive a free breakfast and a free lunch in our school cafeteria.

Student Sign-Out

When signing students out for appointments or for the day, parents and/or guardians are required to come into our Attendance Office to sign students out. Students are not allowed to just walk outside or meet parents in the car. Our attendance clerks will then call your student(s) out of class. Thank you for working with us to ensure your student(s) are properly signed out and accounted for.

Student ID Initiative

It's not too late to get your student ID! Our campus initiative of Student IDs for each student is successfully progressing.

Students are expected to have their school ID on them at all times. Students can wear the lanyard with the ID or have it clipped to their backpack.

School IDs are required for entrance onto our school campus after 9:00am, into our school library, and to leave for CTEC or other campus programs including Co-Op.

Students who still need an ID card can obtain one free of charge in the AP Office before school 8:00am-8:40am or during their lunch period. Replacement IDs are also available should an ID card become lost.

Let's continue to support this initiative to support campus safety!

Bus Safety Reminders

Safety at the bus loop is important so no one is injured and our bus drivers can provide transportation for our students! A few reminders for bus safety:

  • Students must stay behind the white lines in our bus loops at all times.
  • Students may not chase a bus.

Please follow these two guidelines to ensure the safety of all bus riders. Failure to do so may result in injury and/or suspension of bus privileges.

Reminder- NO Outside Food Deliveries

Students are not allowed to have food deliveries to Roosevelt campus at any time (from Uber Eats, grub hub, restaurants, etc). Thank you for your understanding.
