Volleyball (Coach DuBose & Coach Holt):
The Lady Vikings traveled to Ingram this past Monday to compete in their 3rd district volleyball game. These ladies did exceptionally well. Kicking off the evening was a 2 game sweep won by the 7th Grade Gold Team. Josey Kannmacher led her team in serves that night followed by Kylie Dixon. Cassie McKinney and Ivory Mason are the setters and they led their team to 3 kills that night.
The 8th grade Gold Team won their match up in 2 games as well. They played a really great game with Selina and Haily Pham leading in serves. Natalie played her setter position well, getting her teammates as many opportunities as possible to assist in several kills.
The 8th Grade Blue Team won their match against Ingram in 2 sets. Ashlyn led her team in serves with 18 in a row! She maintained her composure and the game ended at a stunning 25-3. Mallory was a close second with her serves, reaching 10 total on the previous game. This was their first win of the season, and it was great seeing them so excited. We definitely hope to continue down this winning path.
Our next game is here on Monday against Florence. Please come by the gym to support these ladies starting at 4:30!
Football (Coach Fowler, Coach Rague, Coach Rogers, Coach Tomlin)
Super Team, 7th & 8th Football vs. Wall MS
The LVMS Vikings swept the Groesbeck Goats by winning all three football games on
Thursday night. The Super Team led the way in the 1st game by out-ramming the
Goats 20-0. The Vikings had touchdowns by Chandler Henson, Jacob Garcia and Jagger Nowak. All Super Team athletes made a contribution to the 1st win of the season. A few notable team members are: David Rague, Nolan Rogers, Garett Phariss, Jacob Rogers, Rory Maxwell, Ruben Johnson, AJ Velasquez & Gonzalo Hildalgo.
The 7th grade team continued tying-up the Goats in their victory of 20-8. Kaleb Alderette had a touchdown run + a 2pt. conversion run. Lane Powers a 1 rushing touchdown and a receiving TD from Adrian Hernandez. This game saw the defense play much tougher with Lane Powers, Adrian Hernandez, Noah Hernandez, Kaleb Alderette, Dillon Amstutz, Trace Sweet & Josh Alexander tackle the Goats into submission.
The Vikings 8th grade team capped the night with a huge win of 30-6. Touchdowns were scored by Tristian Arambula, Preston Coffey and two by Sam Hurley’s speedy legs. One of Sam’s TD’s was a pass reception from N. Weichman. Two-point conversions after touchdowns were scored by T. Arambula, S. Hurley & N. Weichman. The offensive line of G. Beard, S. Babin, J. Hood, R. Kent, Wm. Hamilton, H. Sims and N. Cannon continued to make running room for the backs and also protect Weichman on the pass. The hard hitting defense made plays throughout the game, while the secondary only saw two completed passes. The highlight of the game was when the offense controlled the clock in the 3rd quarter and only allowed the Goat offense 3 plays. Congratulations to all of the teams and each team member for a successful evening.
The Vikings travel next week to Canyon Lake where they will take-on Mountain Valley Middle School. Game times are 4:30, 5:30 & 6:30.
