Lietz is proudly participating in The Great Kindness Challenge, a week-long program dedicated to creating a culture of kindness and compassion in communities worldwide. The Great Kindness Challenge is a proactive and positive SEL-focused bullying prevention program that improves school climate and increases student engagement.

The Great Kindness Challenge is one week devoted to performing as many acts of kindness as possible on campus, at home, and in the community. We will encourage students to complete as many acts of kindness as possible at school and hope they feel inspired to continue them at home! At the bottom of the newsletter you will find some checklists filled with ideas and activities that you can do at home.

Together, we will lift each other up, cheer each other on and show the world that KINDNESS MATTERS!

We invite our Lietz Community to join a community dialogue facilitated by Ken Shelton. We will come together to celebrate our community and discuss building our community in order to improve support for students.

The meeting will be held at Lietz Elementary School, on Tuesday, January 31st at 6:30 PM. We will provide food and childcare.

Our focus during this meeting will be on amplifying all voices of our community and supporting parents and guardians in engaging in conversations at home. We believe that by working together, we can make a positive impact on the education of our students.

Lietz will be hosting an online parent information night on Wednesday, January 25th at 7:00 PM for incoming families. Stay tuned for the zoom links. This event will take place at 7:00 PM on January 25th. Click the link below for more information about this virtual event.

On February 10th, from 6pm - 8pm we will be hosting one of the most anticipated events of the year, the Sweetheart Dance. The Sweetheart Dance is a time for Lietz families to enjoy a night of dancing and refreshments and I hope that you are able to attend. Similar to previous years, the dance will be held at Dartmouth Middle School. Below are key details about the dance:

Ticket Purchases:

Ticket purchases can be made here. Please secure tickets early, we expect this event to be in high demand.

Additional Details:

• Please only one adult chaperone per student as we want to make sure we have enough room for all students that want to attend.

• Please make arrangements for care of younger siblings as this is for Lietz students only.
