Between the unexpected snow and a Bengal’s Friday, Montgomery Elementary School is buzzing with excitement today! Please remember to send your child dressed for cold weather since we do go outside whenever the weather allows. This week was extremely cold but the temperature did hit the 20 degree mark per the WeatherBug App, so we got to go outside for a day or two. Last but not least, if your child is a car rider, have them ready to go when you get to the drop off point. Our goal is to get them into the building as quickly as possible and keep traffic moving!
Who Dey!
Amy

Dear Montgomery Families,
Here are the PTO updates for the week:
Boosterthon:
We are excited to kick off our Boosterthon program on Thursday, February 10th. Our school has always relied on fundraising to provide exceptional opportunities to enhance student learning. Navigating the pandemic has exposed new and pressing challenges in addition to the conventional ways we typically support the school, which means we need your support more than ever.
We completely understand if your family is not in a position to financially support the school right now. However, you can still be involved by simply SHARING about our fundraiser with friends and extended family online at mybooster.com. Sharing IS supporting!
Just as we worked to safely begin school this year, we are also safely hosting this essential fundraiser based on our school's current guidelines. We'll send more details, as we get closer to our kick off.
Key dates to remember:
• REGISTRATION/DONATION OPENS - 1/20
Register on MYBOOSTER.COM
• Fundraiser Kick Off - 2/10
• Event Day - 2/18
SAVE THE DATE! You’re Invited!
We are grateful for you all! Thank you for your support this year. We all need it!
Cultural Heritage Celebration:
The Montgomery Elementary PTO has traditionally held a large event to recognize cultures from around the world. We are considering various options to make this event a possibility this year. Please take a moment to complete this brief survey by February 20, 2022.
Yearbook:
We're excited to be working on our current yearbook and actively looking for photo participation from our families! Families who wish to submit photos for the yearbook can do so by emailing them to:
mtptoyearbook@sycamoreschools.org
Please include descriptive text such as "first day of school, Halloween, pajama day, snow day, winter break, etc." in order to help us organize the photographs both chronologically and by event. The more descriptive detail, the better.
Yearbooks can be ordered through Lifetouch by clicking here. The Yearbook ID is 14518622 and should auto populate. Price is $20 per unit. Orders will be accepted through the end of March.
January Gerenal PTO Meeting Update:
We had a significant delay in posting the video feed from our January General PTO Meeting on Wednesday, January 12. The meeting featured two very informative presentations. Dr Debelak spoke about PBIS and how it's managed at Montgomery Elementary School. Additionally, Karen Celesti and Beth Hill spoke about Counseling Services and Mental Health and how families can access these services.
A complete recording of the General PTO Meeting and copies of the supporting documents (Slide shows) can be found here.
Beth Hill can be reached at Hille@sycamoreschools.org
Warm regards,
Kristofer Johnston

Adapt for Life Parent Information Night
Through grant funding, Sycamore has partnered with Cincinnati Children’s Hospital to launch a mental wellness program in our schools called Adapt for Life. To provide more information about the Adapt for Life program, the district is offering a Virtual Parent Information Night on February 8, 2022, from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.
We are asking parents to register in advance and indicate the grade level of their child in order to better customize the information session to the audience. Please also submit questions or topics you would like our speakers to cover during the session. A Zoom link will be emailed to registrants. Click here to register.
For more information about the program, tools for students and families, please visit the Adapt for Life website at https://www.adaptforlife.org. Questions? Please reach out to Lisa Zelvy, Pupil Services Supervisor, at zelvyl@sycamoreschools.org.
