The classroom happenings in Room 105!

A note from Miss Walker

We only have 9 days of school left! This week will be a busy one, with the 6th grade band & choir performance, our field trip to Victory Field on Thursday, and Career Day on Friday! While in class this week, we will be presenting our final Greek Mythology research projects. Students will also have the opportunity to earn extra credit in both Reading and Language this week. All extra credit is due on Friday, May 20th.

Don't forget to send your child with their Chromebook AND charger to school TOMORROW! We will be collecting the devices and assessing them for damages, so they will remain at school for the rest of the school year.

End of the Year - Important Dates!

The month of May always brings several exciting events and important dates for the students! Here is a list of important items that are coming up as our year draws to a close:

Medical Forms

Please don't forget to fill out the medical form that came home with your child last week! This form is to be used for NEXT school year, so please indicate the 2016-2017 school year in the top right hand corner. Also, please leave the space for Homeroom Teacher blank, as we do not yet know who your child's homeroom teacher will be! Thank you for your help! Please let me know if you have any questions or if you need a new form!

Field Trip!

This Thursday, May 19th, is our annual field trip to Victory Field! Please remember the following important pieces of information!


  • Students will need a sack lunch UNLESS they sold 2 or more boxes of chocolate in our fundraiser. (This will be marked on the info sheet coming home today)
  • Students and chaperones will not need money - we will not be purchasing items from the vendors at the park.
  • Please dress appropriately for the weather! We will be outside all day!
  • Students MAY BRING: cameras, baseball gloves, sunscreen, baseball hat
  • Students MAY NOT BRING: cell phones, money

Survivor Day volunteers

We are in need of volunteers on Wednesday, May 25th for Survivor Day! Mr. Larrison, the gym teacher, is in need of volunteers from 9am to around 2:30pm. Lunch is provided! Please let me know if you are interested and available for the day, and I will pass your contact information on to Mr. Larrison. Thanks for your help!

Summer Birthdays!

We will be celebrating our summer birthdays on Monday, May 23rd. If your child did not get a chance to celebrate their birthday at school this year, please feel free to send in treats on this day! Happy birthday to our summer birthdays! :)

Box Tops Contest

This is the final week for our Box Top Contest! Please send in any Box Tops you've been collecting! Thanks for helping to support our school by collecting these throughout the school year!

Classroom Citizen of the Week

Payton Tillett was our final Citizen of the Week for the school year! Payton was chosen by his classmates for being kind and respectful to others. Way to go, Payton! :) Congratulations to all of the students who earned this honor throughout the school year!
