May Begins

Hello Corvallis Family,

And it's back to being chilly.....

We have a couple of events this week:

PTA Meeting Tuesday 5/2 6-7 pm in the Teacher Work Room

Family Math Night Wednesday 5/3 Library 5-6 pm

Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month

We have students from many Asian and Pacific Islander origins. This month we will highlight as many of our students' cultures as possible. Everything we learn enriches us.

Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month is observed in the United States during the month of May, and recognizes the contributions and influence of Asian Americans and Pacific Islander Americans to the history, culture, and achievements of the United States.

State testing

State testing begins this week for grades 3-5. Please see the Parent Support & Resources section below. We do not believe that a test score describes our students. These assessments are an indicator of what our students know and where we should focus our teaching.

Chat with the principal is a week from today. Come to the Computer Room on Monday, May 8th from 8:45 to 9:45 and talk about volunteer opportunities.

Have a wonderful week!

  • Send your child in with your support "Do your best!"

CAASPP Practice Test

Corvallis students in grades 3-5 will begin state assessments on Tuesday, May 9th. If you would like to help your child practice these assessments you can do so at this site.

Coming soon will be how to make sure your child is in the best physical shape to show everyone how hard they've worked and how much they have learned.

12 ways to help kids cope with school anxiety

Many of our students suffer anxiety. As a parent, I know how helpless we can feel when our children are suffering. Here is an article that talks about some things parents can do at home. Please reach out to your child's teacher to discuss your concerns. We want to help you and your child work through the anxiety and enjoy school.
