News From Room 211

Hello, everyone! I hope each one of you had an enjoyable weekend. I got grandbaby time so it was a win weekend for me.

I want to remind you of a couple of things going on this week. First, the Fun Run is Thursday at Memorial Stadium (behind the Tourist field) at 10:15. This is a huge Claxton fundraiser. If you would like, I am more than happy to sign your student up as a participant (I plan to sponsor each child for $1.00). Simply send me a note giving permission for your child to participate. A field trip form went home Monday with your student, and needs to be returned no later than Wednesday, October 14. Second, Friday is an early dismissal day. Car riders will be dismissed at noon, along with the bus riders.

I am including a link for the PTO Parent Newsletter.

Please Consider Supporting Eblen Pumpkins!

Dear Parents and Teachers:

We are now starting our first week of this year’s Eblen Charities Pumpkin Fundraiser

Our goal is to sell 500 Pumpkins!! Eblen Charities assist Asheville City Schools with projects every year. Already this year Eblen has donated over $1,000 to help students with clothing and shoe assistance, school supplies, classroom snacks, and medical needs including vision and hearing assistance.

Please consider giving back to Eblen by purchasing a pumpkin for $1. Each dollar earned is our way of saying “Thank You” for everything they do for us! Pumpkins are available in the school office.

Eblen is awarding prizes for this year’s top pumpkin sellers:

  • Teacher $25 gift certificate to Outback Steakhouse
  • Student $10 gift certificate to Regal Biltmore Grand Cinemas.
  • Classroom ice cream party (pizza & Pepsi party for selling over 150)

Good luck selling and Thank You for everything you do!
