Math
In math we will continue our unit in DIVISION! First, we will show all the different ways we can represent division using arrays, area models, and equations.
We cannot stress enough how much easier the math becomes when students know their multiplication facts! With practice everyone grows!
Science & Social Studies
In Science we will continue to learn about Energy. We will focus on electrical circuits and electromagnetic fields.
In Social Studies we will begin our study of European Explorers such as Cabeza de Vaca, Francisco Coronado, and Rene Robert Cavelier, Sieur de la Salle. We will study their impact on the settlement of Texas.
Reading & Writing
In reading next week we will focus on dramas, or plays. Students should be familiar with vocabulary related to the structure of dramas such as: dialogue, scene, lines, props, theme, stage directions, and playwright. Students will apply their prior knowledge of literary texts to analyze dramatic texts.
In writing, we will write our own dramas. Students will write a play to show their knowledge of dramatic structure and elements! How exciting! We will also focus on adverbs. If a word can tell how, when, or where, that's an adverb!
