On February 1818 was born in a slave house near the town of Easton, on the Eastern shore of Maryland. When e was just a few weeks old his parents were took away from him so we was raised by his grandparents. When he was the age of six he was abandon from his grandmother and never saw her again. when he was eight he was sent to Baltimore to live as a houseboy for his masters Hugh and Sophia Auld.(federick dogoulass.org
