Austin Public Library Cards for DVISD Students and Staff
Del Valle ISD is partnering with the Austin Public Library (APL) to provide free library cards to all DVISD students. APL offers over 2 million resources for check-out, live tutoring, homework help, access to computing devices, and research and database tools.
How does it work?
All DVISD students will receive a free library card unless their parents opted out during the registration process.
Cards are expected to arrive at schools mid to late October and will be distributed to DVHS students through the Learning Commons.
Parents can always change their opt out status by logging onto their parent Skyward account and checking/unchecking a box in Skyward.
Any new enrollments or changes to opt out status will be updated with APL on a monthly basis, and the cards will be sent to the school when they are ready.
What about staff?
DVISD staff are also eligible for free Austin Public Library cards.
If you would like an APL card, complete a Group Card Application and return it to the Learning Commons. (Email Ms. McClendon or stop by the LC for an application.)
Cards will be delivered to staff.
