Park Terrace Elementary
May 11, 2022 Newsletter
Greetings Park Terrace Elementary!
Spring is finally (and I mean finally!) here!
Our students have been having such an awesome time at school. As some of our photos show this week, we’ve been having fun while learning outside, learning on field trips, hosting a Festival of Nations, participating in SPARK classes and so much more! You can feel the positive energy in the air.
As we all remember, spring in school can be such an exciting and fun time. It also is a critical time for students to demonstrate what they have learned throughout the year. In these final five weeks of school, we want to work in partnership to support each student in achieving grade-level outcomes. Please check in with your student to ask how things are going. Please also reach out to teachers as needed. There are many supports in place to help students find success in learning while still having fun in these final weeks.
As we look ahead to summer, you may wonder about your student’s school-owned iPad. All of students grades K-11 will once again be able to keep their school-issued iPad at home and return with it for the 2022-2023 school year. If you prefer our school keep the iPad over the summer or you are not returning next year, you’ll be able to turn in the iPad to the main office. For more details and information, please see below in the newsletter.
Our Spring Carnival is coming up on May 20, 6-8 p.m. at Park Terrace Elementary. Our PTO is still looking for volunteers for the evening. If you are able to help, please follow the QR code to sign up! Wristbands for the event will be $5 per person with a maximum of $20 per family. Homeroom teachers will be sending forms to pre-pay for carnival wristbands later this week. Wristbands will also be available at the door. There will be pizza and snacks available for purchase at the carnival. This should be a fun event for our students to celebrate the school year!
I hope everyone has a great week! Let’s keep up all the hard work . . . and the fun!
Sincerely,
Mona Perkins
Principal

Plans for iPads this summer
This summer, Spring Lake Park Schools' families with students in grades K-11 will once again be able to keep their school-issued iPad at home and return with it for the 2022-2023 school year. If you prefer the school keep the iPad over the summer, you will be able to turn it into the main office.
- Seniors and families who are leaving the Spring Lake Park Schools district after this school year need to turn in their school-issued iPad, case and charger.
- Seniors will return their iPad, case and official Apple charger to the high school on Thursday, June 9 during their rehearsal for graduation.
Students who will not be enrolled for the 2022-2023 school year can turn in their iPad, case and charger to:
- their home school office, or
- to the District Services Center at 1415 81st Ave NE, Spring Lake Park, MN 55432.
If family plans change over the summer months, we ask families to call the District Services Center, 763-600-5000. Need Tech Support? Contact the Technology Department at techsupport@district16.org or 763-600-5555.
Outstanding School Fees: How to pay through Campus Parent Portal
As we near the end of the 2021-2022 school year, we ask that families pay any outstanding fees they may have acquired throughout the school year. Fees could range from technology to library books and music fees.
To check if your family has any outstanding fees and to pay for the fees, login to Campus Parent Portal and click on "Fees" located in the left-hand black column. We ask that families pay these fees by June 30, 2022.
