Spring is coming!
We are wrapping up our winter seasons and only two weeks away from our spring activities season opening. What a fun winter season we had in all sports. Our gymnast competed at the State Meet this past weekend; we have two wrestlers headed to state this weekend, and our basketball teams are in the thick of sections. Our boys on the Luverne hockey team completed their section tournament this weekend as well. Mrs. McCarthy and our speech team hosted a very large and successful invitational meet on Saturday. Friday, the Knowledge Bowl team heads to Sub Regions.
Our first season pairing with Ellsworth for sports has been a very positive experience for our students. The phrases "combining the talents" and "better together" showed in all of our activities. We are looking forward to seeing the new faces in the track and field and golf programs. Softball and baseball have been combined for a number of years. We look forward to this program continuing to benefit our students.
Post Secondary Enrollment Options (PSEO)
Postsecondary Enrollment Options (PSEO) is a program that allows 10th-, 11th- and 12th-grade students to earn both high school and college credit while still in high school, through enrollment in and successful completion of college nonsectarian courses at eligible participating postsecondary institutions. Most PSEO courses are offered on the campus of the postsecondary institution; some courses are offered online. Each participating college or university sets its own admissions requirements for enrollment into the PSEO courses. Eleventh and 12th-grade students may take PSEO courses on a full- or part-time basis; 10th graders are eligible to enroll in PSEO on a more limited basis. Students must meet the PSEO residency and eligibility requirements and abide by participation limits specified in Minnesota Statutes, section 124D.09. If a school district determines a pupil is not on track to graduate, she/he may continue to participate in PSEO on a term by term basis.
The link below provides additional information about the PSEO program, Adrian High School's policy and the acknowledgment form. These documents can also be found in the lower right corner of the districts website: http://isd511.net

If your student plans to participate in PSEO at any time during the 2020-21 school year, the following form must be turned into the office by MAY 30th.

Dragon PRIDE
PRIDE Celebration
Our focus is currently on Respect and Integrity in our school and community. The PRIDE celebration for February will be held on Wednesday, February 26th. We will also show our enthusiasm as we send off our two wrestlers to the state tournament. The boys basketball team kicks of Section competition on Saturday in Worthington.
In January, we celebrated our lowest level of office referrals since we began our PBIS Dragon PRIDE. Our school is full of respectful and determined students who do good things each day. We look forward to continuing to make strides to teach students the benefits of the PRIDE qualities for their lifelong success.
