Week of November 9, 2018
Second Marking Period
Our second marking period started on Monday of this week. Each marking period is always a fresh start for our students to set personal goals for themselves, whether it relates to academics, organization, positive behavior, developing a skill, or making a new friend. Having a goal to work toward helps with focus and develops a sense of accomplishment for kids. Ask your child what they would like to work on this marking period and help them take steps to reach those goals.
Parent-Teacher Conferences are next week. If you have not already scheduled a time to meet with your child's teacher, it is not too late to do so. Please contact your child's teacher using email or a phone call to set up a time to meet and review your child's classroom performance. This is a good time to share information with your child's teacher about home routines with school work or concerns/questions you have about your child's learning. Student success works best when teachers, students, and parents all work together toward the same goal.
Have a great week!

IXL
Students in Grade 3-6 Receive IXL Support
Our staff is able to match curriculum standards to our students' individual needs for extra support and/or extension of their learning. Parents and students are able to access this program at home as well for additional practice in math and ELA standards.
Teachers are thrilled and thankful to have a proven resource to help support the curriculum and meet the individual learning needs of their students. They started using IXL this week and should be sending your student's log in information home soon if you haven't already received it.
More information on IXL can be found at the link below:

This assembly was made possible by our Color Run fundraising! Thank you Morgan Community!
Morgan Lunch Monitors
Morgan continues to look for additional support during the lunch hour. While our building is allocated a certain amount of paid EduStaff lunch monitors, we can take additional support in the form of volunteers. Students really enjoying seeing their parent/grandparent/aunt/uncle at school during the lunch time helping in the lunchroom or walking around the playground with the kids.
If you are interested in becoming a paid lunch monitor, please click on link below to start an application with EduStaff. EduStaff certified lunch monitors are paid an hourly rate each day they work. EduStaff employees can also complete additional, free, online training sessions and become substitute paraprofessionals for additional paid hours of work.
Morgan also takes volunteers with a current background check on file. If you filled out a Volunteer Sheet within the past few years, you should be able to volunteer for field trips, classroom help and lunch supervision. If you are unsure about your volunteer status, please contact the Main Office and Sharon or Melissa can check for you: 586-797-5800.
If you are interested in volunteering during the lunch hour, which runs from 11:30 AM until 12:15 PM each day, please contact Melissa in the main office and let her know what days you are available to volunteer. Grandparents/aunts/uncles/neighbors are all welcome once we have a background check on file.
If you have any questions, please call Morgan at 586-797-5800 or email Mrs. Lasky at sue.lasky@uticak12.org.
