Principal Allen's Weekly Newsletter
January 20, 2020
Dear Spicewood Elementary Parents & Community Members,
I hope you are enjoying your long weekend! Although today is a staff and student holiday, I would like to remind you that today is the last day to register Kindergarten- 3rd grade student projects for the Science Fair. Parents, thank you for supporting your students as they complete them.
Please plan to join us on Thursday evening for the science fair viewing- it's always such an incredible experience to see their final project.
Have a wonderful week!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Allen
Spicewood Elementary Principal

Spicewood Students Compete in Campus Spelling Bee
Around 30 Spicewood students put their considerable spelling talents on display in the campus Spelling Bee last week. Srikar spelt 'Arugula' correctly to win the 2019-2020 Spicewood Spelling Bee, and Anoushka finished as first runner up. Congratulations to them both!
Special thanks go out to our Spelling Bee Chair Herschal Trivedi, who worked incredibly hard getting the program together, Ellen Tuthill, who did a fabulous job as the pronouncer, and our judges Lakshmi and Rebecca. Also a big thank you to our parent volunteers, as well as our Spicewood staff, Ms. Cruz and Mr. Catuogno, who all gave generously of their time in helping us conduct the competition.
A Note From Mrs. Oates (IB Coordinator)
