News
- Students are also running low on paper and pencils. Restocking would be helpful.
- Students also need a pair of headphones for their computer. An inexpensive pair from the Dollar Store is more than sufficient.
Art
6th grade art rotation is beginning their last big project the 9 weeks. We are creating surreal digital collage stories using Google slides. Make sure to ask your artist how they are creating their story!
Dance
6th dance focus: We will view "The "Nutcracker" and "Mao's Last Dancer" parent permission is required to view the movies. The semester ends Decemeber 20th.
Drama
Great job by all in the ArtSmash on Tuesday! We watched our show and wrote a reflection on the process and performance. Students are now viewing the stage musical of Oklahoma! and will celebrate the end of the semester with a Secret Santa swap on Tuesday.
Language Arts
The students will continue with an activity from "The Gift of the Magi". They will finish their teen activist essay.
Math
6th grade math students have a test on order of operations on Monday. Most of the test questions come from our order of operations homework. Students know this and they know that all missing work is due by Tuesday. Winter break would be a great time to resupply your students with pencils, paper and an inexpensive set of headphones for use in the classroom.
Production Technology
Prod Tech students will work on their games in Scratch this week. They have been creating some really cool work with their coding in Scratch. You should ask them to share their holiday animations with you!
Social Studies
We will continue our study of the Roman Empire- the rise and fall!
Science
The students will continue working on energy this week. The focus this week will be constructing explanations, and developing/ using models with electrical circuits and electromagnets. The Nine Weeks Assessment will be December 19th and it will count as a classwork grade. Please encourage your child to complete assignments on time. Students grades will come from teacher assignments, USA Test Prep Labs, Study Island, and test this week.

Hi Parents,
Thanks for your support during the busy month of December! I hope you enjoyed our performances!
Here are a couple of reminders about next week. We will have a class celebration on Monday. Several students have volunteered to bring supplies. Please ask your child about this.
On Tuesday, we will travel to the Burton Center to sing and have fun with the clients there. Students should wear something that shows their Christmas cheer.
