New Faculty Members
Ms. Zinete Paturri
My name is Zinete Paturri. This new school year is going to be my first year of teaching IH Algebra 2, and I am very excited about this opportunity.
It is going to be my fifth year of teaching mathematics at Plano East and my 15th year of teaching experience. For ten years, I taught physics to high school students in a public-school setting and feel honored to help my students when it comes to integrating the two disciplines of study. I hold a bachelor's degree in Natural Sciences of Physics and Mathematics and a master's degree in education and mathematics from the University of Texas at Dallas(UTD).
I live in Plano and have two children, both boys.
When I am not teaching, I like to spend time with my husband and our children. Also, I like cooking and gardening. Reading books has been one of my favorite things since I was a child.
Mr. Tristan Hsieh
My name is Tristan Hsieh and I will be teaching IH Humanities I and II. I worked for one year as a Social Studies teacher at Legacy Preparatory Charter Academy before coming to PESH. I grew up in Plano, and I am an IB graduate myself from Plano East. I have one younger brother, and I enjoy doing things like drawing, reading, and listening to music. I am excited for the upcoming year!
Madame Cathy Stipanovic
Bonjour! I am most excited to be a part of this staff & to encourage my IH and IB students in French 1 and 2! I enjoy… journaling, cooking, camping, playing games, watching movies & Netflix, singing, dancing, swimming, traveling, good coffee, French cheese, dark chocolate, and tiramisu!
I taught French for six years in PISD 1998-2004 (Frankford & Jasper) and have substituted in PISD for the last six years. I have been married for 26 years to Andre who teaches Latin & plays guitar and am mom to our three sons Luke (21), Nick (19) & Ted (17).
Mrs. Amanda Miller
I was born in Oklahoma but went to high school in Arkansas. After two years as a theatre major at Oklahoma City University, I transferred to Baylor University and changed majors, earning a B.S.Ed. in Life Sciences 8-12. I have taught Biology/Honors Biology at Williams, McMillen, and Shepton in PISD, as well as Biology, Biotechnology, and Environmental Science at Putnam City West High School in Oklahoma City. My husband and I have five children – four girls, ages 10, 7, 5, and 3, and a boy, age 9 months. We enjoy family walks with our dog (Ada Marie), riding horses at my parents’ home, cheering for our kids at soccer, softball, or whatever other activity they’ve decided to try. I have a passion for making gifted students feel seen and understood and for helping all students see themselves as scientists.
Mrs. Nicki Marquez
