Alone we can do so little; Together we can do so much!!!
The mission of George Bannerman Dealey is to provide an exemplary education that develops and empowers all students to become productive citizens in our global society.
Dealey Dragons,
I hope everyone took advantage of the Labor Day weekend and had some time to rest. We are gearing up for our fourth week of school. This week, we begin sharing our vision and connecting with team members while sharing valuable resources and methods to give our students the best instruction that is engaging and unique.
We have student leaders taking over the announcements, starting their after-school clubs, sports, and events, and building bridges to make new friends. We will continue to level up and adjust our culture, as needed, while we dive deeper this month into our commitment to high academic expectations.
Sincerely,
Cristina Ibarra (Principal)
Lower Elementary shared the Great Lesson with their students in the auditorium this past week. They were able to collaborate as a team and deliver a beautiful and memorable lesson to their students!
The hallways are filling up with writing samples from our students and their experiences. The Upper Elementary students have filled up two bulletin boards with scientific writings from this summer. Our Lower Elementary students are expressing themselves and their character through writing. So proud of the work on display!
Our students show independence and responsibility as they complete work on their own. They have work plans and know the expectations of their day. They are able to concentrate and complete their work on their own.
Fellowship of Christian Athletes
The first session of FCA was off to a great start. Many students made it to the early morning session before school and were able to gain some positivity and knowledge to start their day.
Middle School Bell Schedule Update
This new bell schedule will begin on Tuesday (after our Labor Day weekend break). See the new
BELL SCHEDULE.
6th grade Specials Update
After many different attempts and schedule changes, we were not able to place upper elementary students in specials according to grade levels. We wanted to be transparent and let everyone know about our efforts in trying to make this schedule work. Students in upper elementary will have specials as in years past with their class.
Except on days when they have theater and gym. On these days they are mixed with other sixth grade students.
Crossing Guard Schedule Update
Our amazing crossing guard quickly changed her schedule to accommodate our new school hours. Morning hours will be from 7:45-8:45am and Afternoon hours will be from 3:30-4:30pm
We will practice a lockdown drill this week. More information on our training and protocols for this drill and others can be found on the
I Love U Guys website. PTA shares so much information with our families.
