A Message from our Principal
Wednesday, February 14, is Ash Wednesday. We will be celebrating Mass on Wednesday at 12 pm. There will be NO Thursday school Mass. Morning Mass on Thursday, February 15 will be in the Chapel.
The Catholic Church enters into retreat time called Lent. It is time to reflect on how we are with God, with our family/neighbors, and with ourselves. We need to take time to make some changes in our attitudes or actions if we need to. We do this more consciously in Lent to prepare for the celebration of Easter.
The six weeks of Lent is for our conversion of heart. The three Lenten disciplines of praying, fasting, and giving alms can help us. Please help us help your children to be active during Lent: pray with them, allow them to see you follow the Law of Fast and Abstinence, and model giving to those who are less fortunate than ourselves. Perhaps ask them to give up a certain snack they like and give the money we save to the poor. There are a number of ways to practice these three Lenten disciplines.
Peace in Christ,
Dr. John Shreve
