May 17, 2016

May 17, 1991 is largely considered the official day the world wide web launched. What you see in the photo to the left is the first ever web server. From This Day in Technology History:

"The first server “web server” in history is set up by Tim Berners-Lee on a NeXTcube at CERN, the European Particle Physics Laboratory in Geneva, Switzerland. The launch of this first server is considered the public release of the World Wide Web."

Happy 25th anniversary World Wide Web!

First Shot: Summer Reading for YOU!

Summer is close. REALLY close! It's a great time to stretch out and dive deep into a great book (and maybe a margarita as well). While as a group we'll all be reading Waking up White by Debby Irving, there are tons of of sites to help you find simply great summer reads.

I've had great luck using NPR's Book Concierge. It's a gorgeous design and they've made it simple to find a new book based on the style you're looking for.
