HUSKY HEADLINES
Volume 2 Issue 2
From the Principal
Harrison Husky Families~
Thank you for a great first week of school!
It was a hot week, but there were plenty of songs, smiles, and moments of Husky PRIDE! With each day, our Huskies grew and improved in so many ways.
Each morning, I walked through our school to find students in classrooms off to an early start, ready to learn! Monday, our bus riders were so well-behaved and patient as we waited for a late bus, and Tuesday all bus riders were treated to ice cream as a thank you for positive behavior! In the lunchroom, Miss Poppen is rewarding positive behavior with fun Emoji's and we will be spinning a wheel for some fun prizes. I was especially proud of our 4th graders for consistently setting such a positive example for all of our students. Overall, our hallways and classrooms are filled with positive behavior and hardworking learners! DHE is a great place to be!
Working together ensures student success from start to finish!
A safe and timely carline requires teamwork. You can help us make sure we keep lines flowing smoothly and students safe by:
1- Contacting Mrs. Gentry if there are any changes in your child(ren) dismissal plans.
2- Use the YELLOW car tag for carline and walk-up.
3- Wait in your car and allow the DHE team to assist your child(ren).
Your DHE staff is very proud of our Huskies for arriving at school ON TIME! Being tardy means that students miss free breakfast, announcements/celebrations, and arrive at their classroom after learning has started. Your help is critical to make sure our Huskies are at school and ready to learn! Please be sure to have children at school BEFORE 7:30 AM. Our front doors open at 7:15 AM and will be secured at 7:30 AM when school starts. Should you arrive after that time, please plan to check your student(s) in at the office.
Please check out the PTA spirit-wear order by clicking on the blue button in the PTA section below. On Fridays, Huskies wear spirit-wear to show their Husky PRIDE! This is also a great way to support our PTA!
Thank you for your kindness, support, and grace throughout the first week of school. Check out our FaceBook page and school website for timely reminders and helpful information. The team at Harrison is honored to serve our students and families.
All the Best,
Ms. DeWitt
Remembering to use this tag helps us keep Huskies safe and the car line running smoothly!
ARRIVAL/DISMISSAL Reminders:
ARRIVAL:
We are happy to welcome students into the building starting at 7:15 AM. Every learning minute counts! Please ensure your students arrive with enough time to walk into the building, eat breakfast, and be ready to learn by 7:30 AM.
Reminder: please exit all car riders from the passenger (sidewalk) side. If this does not work for your situation:
1. park in the lot and use the crosswalk or
2. wait for a staff member to come to assist
DISMISSAL:
Your students are eager to see you at the end of the school day! Please be ready to pick students up no later than 2:30 PM. Each day, please notice the DHE team outside, walking with students and helping them find their ride. Together, we work together to keep our students safe even as we try to move our carline as quickly as possible.
