Attendance
Regular school attendance is important to your child’s progress. All absences must be cleared within 2 days of the absence. Parents should contact the registrar or utilize the online absence form. Absences not cleared are considered unexcused. If absences become a chronic issue, the matter will be referred to campus administrators and/or a truancy officer.
When your child is late, he/she should report to the school safe and secure office before going to class. This is necessary to prevent your child from being marked absent when they are actually present. Being tardy not only prevents your child from receiving critical instruction, it also interrupts the learning process of other children. In addition, students arriving after the tardy bell will be issued a tardy slip. For this reason, repeated tardiness (truancy) will necessitate a letter being sent home to the parents.
We appreciate your support in this matter.
Sincerely,
Katrina Bailey, Principal

Caraway Academy-Week 2
We had an amazing second week of Caraway Academy. Students were able to dive into learning as they explored topics they chose and discussed during the previous week. Some students learned how to create healthy yogurt parfaits, others explored volcanoes, and some used design skills to build cup towers. These are just a few examples of the great things that happened during Academies. This student’s quote really sums up the entire experience this week and the overall goals of Caraway Academy,
“I LOVE the idea of Academies! Everyone gets to get together and mingle and make new friends. Everyone can team up with friends and show their passion about their Academy and their love for it in a fun way everyone enjoys!
We want to thank all of the parent and community volunteers for your support and donations. Without your support Caraway Academy would not be possible. See pictures and read more about academies here.

October 2016-Be Kind
The National Bullying Prevention Month campaign was founded in 2006 by PACER's National Center for Bullying Prevention. The campaign is held during the month of October and unites communities nationwide to educate and raise awareness of bullying prevention. Its mission is to transform a society that accepts bullying into a society that recognizes that bullying must – and can – be addressed through education and support.
The Caraway theme for the month of October is “Be Kind.” We are inviting all students to participate in an anti-bullying essay/poetry contest. The theme is “Be Kind.” Students are invited to submit an original poem with a message about being kind to others.
