Drop Off/Pick Up Procedures 22-23
Drop Off/Pick Up Procedures 22-23
Morning Drop Off
Parents dropping students off at school in the morning should enter our parking lot in the right hand lane (nearest the curb).
Parents, please remain in your car to speed up traffic flow.
Students should exit the car along the curb at the earliest point you are able to stop. Please do not drop students at each door. All students are able to walk to their respective entrances.
Kindergarten and 1st grade students enter through the “Early Childhood” Entrance.
2nd and 3rd grades enter at the Main Entrance.
4th and 5th grades enter at the “Cafeteria” Entrance.
After your student has exited your vehicle, carefully proceed to the left hand lane and exit the parking lot.
Turning right out of the parking lot is almost always easier and faster, as other cars may be waiting to enter the parking lot to the left.
This system is safest and more efficient when drivers follow the procedures outlined above. Thank you for supporting the safety of Lou Henry students!
Car Rider/Walk Up Dismissal
Every family should have a Pick-Up tag. Please display this in your windshield or have it in your hand!
If you do not have a tag, please let your classroom teacher know.
If you need additional tags, please contact your teacher as well.
Numbers will be called as cars enter the parking lot.
The line is very long right now but is moving faster than it has in many years! Thank you for your patience.
Parents, please remain in your car to speed up the traffic flow.
If you feel you must get out of the car, please park in the designated spaces in the lot and be prepared to tell a teacher your pick-up number.
Students are being dismissed from classrooms this year to avoid large crowds waiting at the door. We understand this is not the most convenient solution, but please know we are basing our decisions on the safety of all students. Again, thanks for your patience.
Walker Dismissal
If your 2nd-5th grade student is a walker, please inform your students’ teacher.
They will be dismissed as close to 3:45pm as possible.
Kindergarten and 1st grade students need to have a face-to-face dismissal-- using your pick-up tag number, makes this much quicker!
If you are picking them up by car, please use the car rider system described above. Again, these considerations have been made with the safety of all students in mind.
Thank you for your support and your help keeping our students safe!!
