The ACT for Seniors (12th Grade) is Tuesday, October 6
All Students In Grades 9, 10, and 11 Will Participate in "At-Home" Learning on October 6.
Students in grade 12 will take the ACT test at AVHS on Tuesday, October 6. All other students will have an at-home learning day that day. October 6 is the test date for ALL students in Grade 12; there are not separate testing days for Cohort A, B, or Digital Academy.
Students taking the ACT on October 6 need to arrive at AVHS no later than 7:55 am and should bring:
- Photo ID
- Pencils
- An ACT approved Calculator
In accordance with ISD 196/Minnesota Department of Health policies, all students must wear face coverings when inside Apple Valley High School. This includes during the ACT.
The test will be completed by 11:30 am, and students are free to leave after the completion of the test. Buses will run at normal times, departing AVHS at 1:50 pm, on Tuesday, October 6.
Please note that the number one reason students are disqualified from the ACT is improper use of an electronic device. Students should leave electronic devices, including cell phones, at home if at all possible. All electronic devices brought to school need to be powered off and stowed in a backpack or other bag.

The PreACT for Juniors (11th Grade) is Wednesday, October 7
Students in grade 11 will take the Pre-ACT test at AVHS on Wednesday, October 7. Wednesday is not typically an in-person learning day for students; however, buses will run at their regular times on this day for students in grade 11 to arrive at AVHS by 8 am.
The PreACT is a free, non-college-reportable test designed to give students a preparatory experience for taking the ACT later in their academic career. Test results are scaled to ACT benchmarks, and students receive detailed feedback to help them understand current areas of strength as well as areas for growth.
Students taking the PreACT on October 7 need to arrive at AVHS no later than 8 am and should bring a photo ID, pencils, and a calculator. The test will be completed by 11:30 am, and students are free to leave after completion of the test.
