Believin' and Achievin' Times
Student Edition: March 20, 2020
Stay Positive Everyone!
With the announcement from Governor Holcomb that all schools in the state of Indiana will remain closed through May 1, I have received several emails from students and parents. There are many questions and uncertainties surrounding COVID-19 and how it will affect school related events and activities such as Prom, Senior Awards, Senior Banquet, and Graduation. I want to inform you that Chesterton High School has not made any decisions to cancel any of these events at this time.
As our administration navigates through the uncertain times ahead, please know that the health and safety of all of our students is our number one priority. At this time, we are committed to continue to have prom, senior awards, a senior banquet, and a graduation ceremony. Please do not give up hope! I am believing that we will be back in school in May and we will find a way to give our students all the experiences that will afford them the memories they deserve. It is time to believe and achieve!!!!!!
Due to the latest mandatory closings, we are tentatively moving the Junior/Senior Prom to a later date in May. Even though we are not certain what the future holds, we can remain hopeful that our plans for all the end of the year events will be fulfilled. As we move forward we will continue to monitor the situation and address all of our scheduled events at the appropriate times.
