Message from the Superintendant
All Watertown Public Schools are closed for two weeks starting tomorrow, Friday, March 13th through Friday, March 27th and plan to reopen on Monday, March 30th.
Students who may have left personal items in their locker or in the school can retrieve these belongings tomorrow, Friday, March 13, between 9:00 a.m. and noon.
There has been one potentially positive case of COVID-19 in Watertown, not connected to the school community. We have decided to be proactive to slow the rapid spread of the virus as some people get very sick. It is not an easy decision as we know that this will be hard for families who do not have childcare options.
Extra-curricular activities, extended-day before/after school care, athletics, clubs, and buildings are also closed.
We will tell you more details next week, especially about access to learning opportunities for your children while we are closed.
We will be holding a School Committee meeting regarding our next steps tomorrow afternoon at 4:30, which will be broadcast on WCATV. If you have any questions, please email them to Kathleen.Desmarais@watertown.k12.ma.us. To promote social distancing, we request that you watch the meeting via WCATV and submit questions via email.
