Welcome to our CTS Snapshot - a weekly celebration update. We are delighted to share with parents and carers alike student triumphs at Corby Technical School. We are proud of every student and every success they have - please feel free to share with us any achievements they might have.

Year 10 Food Technology Trip

it was the turn of Year 10 students to visit Moulton College Food and Drink Innovation Centre this week. The group spent time with Steve Russell, Associate Programme Coordinator and looked at the various courses available and the entry requirements need to study there. The group then took part in a baking session.

  • Mr Harley has nominated the following, Year 9 Engineering student Bhanu for his engineering accuracy & high quality finish of the junior hacksaw he is making. Year 8 student Harley for the his hard work in producing a great scene in the box project and Year 7 students Nadia & Scarlett for working independently and accurately during the making of the animal night.
  • Mr Godfrey has nominated Year 9 student Leon for working out a very complex Physics problem and explaining it superbly to the class.
  • Mrs Ferns and Mr Horne would like to congratulate the following students on their success in the UK Maths Challenge, Gold winners Nikodem, Year 9 and Sam and Wojciech in Year 10. Silver winners Adam, Year 8, Gabriela, Holly and James, Year 9 and Ana, Year 10. Bronze winners were Robert, Year 8, Daisy, Year 9 and Dominik, Mya and Ryan, Year 10. Well done to you all.


Careers Event

This week we held our first Careers Event in school. Throughout the morning students took part in workshops and seminars followed by the careers fair in the afternoon. In attendance we had over 30 post 16 providers, universities, local and national companies who offered advice to our students on what careers in their industries entail, qualifications that are needed and the different routes into careers.


Thank you to all the exhibitors who took part, it was an amazing experience for our students and we hope to see you all next year!

Sports Relief

We held a mufti day this week to raise funds for Sports Relief which will happen during our March break. Students took part in various activities during the school day including a cake sale, rowing challenge and kinect sports activity.


Student raised £738.56 for Sports Relief, well done everyone!
