Mrs. Myers' Message
Hello, Gators! I'm Wendy Myers and I am excited to be the new principal of South Creek Elementary School. I received my bachelors degree in elementary education from Ball State University and my masters degree in educational administration from Butler University. I have 16 years of experience in public education at the Mill Creek Community School Corporation. I began my career as a special education teacher. I have also been a general education teacher and enjoyed several years in 4th and 5th grade. Additionally, I have worked as an instructional coach, a high school assistant principal, and an elementary principal. When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with my husband and my two children ages 14 and 10. I look forward to getting to meet each of you and learning all the reasons that makes our students and school so special!

St. Patrick's Day - Abby
St.patricks day is a time to get candy from the leprechaun. The price is something like money or something shiny. So here is what and how you can make some candy.
---Get a box and put a pencil to hold it up and put a coin or something shiny.
---Open your art box and put a coin or something shiny in the box.
---Make more if you desire more chocolates or candy.
---Then finally wait overnight and in the morning you should have a lot of candy.
I hope you have a great St. Patrick's day and get a lot of candy!

Spring Break - Morgan and Kelsey
On March 13 it will be the first day of Spring Break. There are so many fun things that you can do! First of all you could hang out with your friends or you could hang out with your family. You could also ride your bike or go swimming if it’s warm. If it’s raining you could stay inside and play board games with friends or watch movies with family or vice versa. So there is always something to do over spring break.
Where are they now? - Erin
Where Are They Now?
I thought it would be fun to see what some former Gators are doing these days, so I began by interviewing Mrs.Basset who used to be a kindergarten and 5th grade teacher at South Creek, (her name was Miss .Garis before she got married.)
Q: On a scale of 1 to 10 how much did you like South Creek?
A: A 10!!
Q: What do you miss most about South Creek?
A: There are so many things I miss about South Creek! I miss being in the classroom, teaching and forming close bonds with my students. I miss seeing the familiar faces of former students, getting those great big hugs and hearing about all the awesome things they are doing in their new classrooms. I also miss the friendships I made with the other teachers! I think about everyone daily and hope that everyone is doing well!
Q: Tell us about what you are doing these days.
A: These days, I spend my time chasing around a very busy 2-year-old! On any given day, my son, Connor, and I can be found reading books at the library, exploring the children's museum, having playdates with our friends, visiting Scott at his office, or just staying home and making big messes with paint or LEGO blocks! We keep our days pretty active!
Q. Do you think you will ever go back to teaching?
I have thought about that a lot! I think that once our kids are in school, I could totally see myself going back!! Teaching still has a big part of my heart!! :)
Q: What are some of the other fun things you enjoy doing?
A: A: Aside from going on daily adventures with Connor, I enjoy exercising, decorating our new house (which we will have been living in for a year this May), and having the occasional date night with Scott. We also like to try to go on a vacation every year, and this year for Spring Break we will be traveling to Arizona and Utah, so I've been having fun planning our trip!
Mrs. Bassett, thank you so much for agreeing to be interviewed! We miss you tons at South Creek!

From
Child
That was our letter now here is our answer.
Dear child,
I know how you feel, my sibling left home not to long ago, but you can cheer yourself up with these tips.
1. Write him a letter, who knows, maybe he will write back (trust me it works).
2. Try calling him or FaceTiming him.
3. If you contact him, ask him were he lives, so you can visit him!
I hope you feel better, see your brother, and cheer up!
Have a Helpful day,
The Helpers of the Helper’s Blog
