New Year's Challenge
Sorry for the delay. I was so upset by the performance of our home team that I wanted to wait until I was sending more positive vibes for the New Year! Most of this newsletter is repeat reminders for important events from a couple weeks ago.
I know there are people against New Year's Resolutions. They either say they don't stick or these are things you should be doing anyway. I go back and forth. Two years ago, I made a resolution to be more fit by doing 100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, and 100 squats each day. I made it all the way to March. I missed a few days, but made them up. When I had COVID, I came out of it and had to do 500 of each on my first day back. That was a doozy, but I sure was proud.
There's never a bad time to grow and do good things, so let's be resolute together. My goal for this community is to help Seneca go beyond the school day and truly become a community school. Please look at the calendar and think about an event as a family you can join in the second half of the year so you can see just how great we can be together.
- Multi-Cultural Night- On January 18 (see below). This is a great way to cash in on that New Year's Resolution immediately. The diversity in this community is what makes us great. Please encourage students to share. The Multicultural Night Presentation Sign-Up will need to be completed by students.
- Rising Parent Information Nights- (see below) This is the first time we are doing an evening for rising 7th and 8th students.
- Grade Level Field Trips- (see below) we have to sign a contract soon for the May 31st 8th grade trip to King's Dominion. It will be more expensive than we are used to- $105/ student. We need to get a headcount as soon as possible. Please RSVP here. You are not committed to anything yet.
Multicultural Cluster Event- Jan 18
If you want to hear more from our collective voices, come to our Cluster Multicultural Event on January 18th for food and fun. We will be highlighting local businesses that have agreed to cater the event with great dinner options. This event is 100% free to EACH family. The fun comes with over $500 in free book giveaways from our recent book fair, student showcases, and student performances. Be there or be square!
