Introduction Paragraph

The reason we are making this poster is to help prevent deaths and Injuries from firearms. We will be stating facts and stats with text, videos, and pictures. We will also be giving out prevention tips.

Firearm facts

  • Roughly 16,272 murders were committed in the United States during 2008.
  • Of these, about 10,886 were committed with firearms.
  • In 2005, 96% of the firearm murder victims in Chicago were killed with handguns.
  • The estimated total number of guns held by civilians in the United States is 310,000,000
  • In 2011 32,163 people died from firearms.

Prevention Tips

  • Treat every firearm like its loaded.
  • Always point your muzzle in a safe direction.
  • Know your target and whats beyond .
  • Keep your finger outside the trigger guard until your ready to shoot.
  • Unload your gun with the muzzle pointing down.
