Main Office
If someone in your household is symptomatic or being tested, your student(s) CANNOT be in school.
Daily symptom checker – Early each morning, families will receive a survey via email (and also text message for those who opt for this) with a few short questions. This survey must be completed for EACH child BEFORE they arrive at school for the day. Please have the checker completed by 7:30 am. If the checker is not filled out by 8:00 am you will receive a call from the office.
If you need to drop something off to your student, please use the drop box on the front steps. Please buzz the office to let us know that you left something in the box.
Beginning Monday, March 22nd, all students in Cohorts A , B and C will return to school 5 days per week on-site. Cohort D students will remain in the virtual setting. More specific information will be shared this week from Mrs. Mason.
Mrs. Rosenberger RN, School Nurse
Reminders from the Nurse:
If your child will be absent from school, please contact the absentee line (856)589-2628 option 2 and leave a detailed message with the student's name, grade, and reason for absence. Often, you will be receiving a return call from the Nurse for clarification or for further information. It is imperative that you review the "Go Home Stay Home Guide" and follow the protocols put in place to keep our students and staff healthy- and our schools open. In addition to COVID-19 concerns, the flu and seasonal colds are going around. Hopefully a lot of our students were able to receive the flu vaccine (contact your child's healthcare provider if he/ she did not get one yet). If you are calling your child out with cold symptoms please give details about what you are seeing in your child, and contact his/ her pediatrician for guidance. Children with 2 or more symptoms (ex. congestion, headache) will be excluded from school (along with siblings) until a negative COVID test is supplied to the school.
Seasonal Allergies
COVID-19 is a contagious respiratory illness caused by infection with a new coronavirus (called SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19). Seasonal allergies triggered by airborne pollen can lead to seasonal allergic rhinitis, which affects the nose and sinuses, and seasonal allergic conjunctivitis, which affects the eyes.
COVID-19 and seasonal allergies share many symptoms, but there are some key differences between the two. For example, COVID-19 can cause fever, which is not a common symptom of seasonal allergies. The image below compares symptoms caused by allergies and COVID-19.
Because some of the symptoms of COVID-19 and seasonal allergies are similar, it may be difficult to tell the difference between them, and you may need to get a test to confirm your diagnosis.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION RE: SCHOOL MEALS - 2020-21 SCHOOL YEAR
As we continue with the hybrid model, Pitman Public Schools will be continuing to offer breakfast and lunch for PICK UP for students.
As a friendly reminder, this program is FREE for all children under the age of 18 in any household regardless of meal status.
Widescale participation by families in this program will also help us to keep our valued food service employees working through this public health emergency.
We appreciate you filling out your contact information for each order so we can easily contact you with any issues or changes in meal pick up.
Please fill out this form for ALL of your children EACH week.
Road Crossing Safety/Morning Arrival
Please use the crossing guard during arrival on Highland Terrace. DO NOT let students cross Highland Terrace in the middle of the block. Children will only exit or enter vehicles along the sidewalk nearest the school building.
There will be some changes to morning arrival in order to accommodate the extra students on site. More information to follow from Mrs. Mason.
Out of State Travel
If you are traveling out of country, your child will be required to quarantine for 14 days.
Wash Your Mask!
Kids How Should We Take Care of Masks and Cloth Face Coverings?
- Wash any worn masks at least once a day, or more often if they look dirty. If the manufacturer gave any special directions, follow them. Use the warmest settings on the washer and dryer that's safe for the material.
- It's OK to put your mask in the washing machine and dryer with your other laundry.
- Don't share masks unless they're washed and dried first.
- Don't store your mask with other people's masks. You can store each mask in its own clean paper bag or hang each one separately on a hook.
