Please look on our website for up-to-date information.

Dear Parents and Carers,

I can't believe that we are already half way through this school year! How time flies.....

Very soon we will be starting to think about our traditional summer events even though it seems no time at all since coming back to school in September. As Covid starts to slow we are hopeful that we will be able to celebrate the summer in many ways this year that we have missed over the last couple of years so look out for newsletters and updates going forwards.

When we come back to school after half term, we will be celebrating World Book Day on 3rd March. You will have received details of the Readathon arranged by the Friends of Kirk Fenton which will be brilliant for the children to get on with over half term. I am looking forward to asking the children about their reading when we are back in school on 28th Febraury

In the meantime, have a lovely, peaceful break.

World Book Day - Thursday 3rd March

It is the 25th anniversary of World Book Day on the 3rd March, and we are planning a great day full of all things literary. As part of our celebrations, children are invited to come dressed as their favourite book character. We particularly love the outfits that have been made from recycled things from around the home, so please don't think you need to spend money on a costume. We would also like children and their families to create a ‘book in a box’ celebrating their favourite story. This can be in a shoe box, cereal box, or even in a match box! If your child would like to make a ‘book in a box’ they need to bring it in on World Book Day, when we will display them in the hall for the whole school to see.

Staff Thank You's

If anyone would like to say thank you to or has any positive comments for a member of staff then please complete and submit the form below.

As another term draws to a close all at Friends of Kirk Fenton would like to wish everyone a happy half term break.

Everyone is hopefully getting ready for World Book Day at the start of March and you should all have received a Friends Readathon bookmark (for your Readathon) in your book bags. Remember, the challenge is to raise as much as you can by getting friends, family, neighbours to sponsor the children to read as many books as possible up until World Book Day on Thursday 3rd March. You can then bring in your sponsor forms and money to school by Friday 11th March (or alternatively contact Friends and we can provide details for a bank transfer if it’s easier).

There will be the Bags 2 school collection in the middle of March so if you’re sorting out clothes over half term then get ready to bring them in! There will be reminders issued to confirm what items are accepted.

In other exciting news there are plans for a “Yes day” at school next term - so watch out for more details on that.

And finally we are planning a curry evening for April/ May so we will reveal more about that in due course as we finalise arrangements.
