A Note from the Principal
We are now midway through the first quarter! It's the perfect time to review Gradelink with your child and talk about some goals for the remainder of the quarter. With October knocking at the door, it seems like schedules seem to get even more hectic. Book reports and other long-term activities have been assigned, so it may be a good time to break those projects into smaller chunks by setting daily or weekly goals with your child.
With October upon us, it also means that the seasonal uniform period ends. It's time to put away those uniform shorts and pull out those uniform pants, jumpers, and skirts. This also means the uniform jogging pants/sweat pants must be worn on days students have physical education. Gym shorts can be worn under them for PE class.
Finally, please keep our very own Miss Margevicius, our music teacher, in your thoughts and prayers. She's getting married on Saturday!! We wish her and her soon-to-be husband Mitch many blessings as they begin this new chapter in their lives!
In the midst of our busy lives at home and at school, be sure to take some time to reflect on the autumn beauty that will soon surround us as temperatures cool and the leaves change. Enjoy the splendor of this beautiful season that God has provided!
Peace and blessings,
Diane Raguz, Principal

Fall Altar Server Training for New & Current Servers
We want you to feel comfortable in this important ministry of service to the church, the altar, and our priests. The first training will be for ALL third graders through eighth-grade current and NEW altar servers. The rest of the weeks will be for only the new servers. New servers may look to the parish website and train with the special Altar Server Training Video, a college project. Here are the dates:
- Tuesday, October 18, 2:35 pm in church
- Tuesday, October 25, 2:35 pm in church
- Tuesday, November 15, 2:35 pm in church.
- INSTALLATION MASS: Sunday, November 20, 10:30 am - be at church at 10:10 for instruction/practice.
After care will be provided free by Father Lane, who is conducting the training with our deans of altar serving. We are grateful to the parents for giving their children this opportunity that so many of us had when we were in grade & high school to serve at the altar of God. For those youth who are not able to make all the practices or any, please let Father Lane know and you may come on the weekends to “shadow” with a current server for “on-the-job training." To register, please contact Kathryn Mailer, Coordinator: katmailer416@gmail.com
Playground Volunteers Needed-Grades 7, 6
We are asking that each family (mom, dad, grandma, etc.) choose at least two days to volunteer each time slot being 11:10 am-12:55 pm. There are many, many time slots open! We are so grateful for the help!
Grade 7 families are asked to volunteer in October and Grade 6 families in November.
This is a great way for you to interact with your child and his/her classmates during the school day! Recess Volunteers should arrive to school at 11:10 and check in at the office. Duties will include supervising students at recess, escorting the students to and from the school doors. Volunteers will be with one school staff member each day to help direct.
Remember that after your two volunteer time slots, you are done for the year, as each month is assigned to a different grade.
Thank you again for your time and service to the students and teachers of SPB! Simply click on the following links to sign up: Grade 7, Grade 6
Our sincere thanks to the following parents who were able to volunteer during August and September: Mrs. Barb Karim, Mrs. Clare Taricska, Mrs. Kristie Krebs, Mrs. Kristi Apelt, Mrs. Colleen Grossner, Mrs. Maria Patyk, Mrs. Tasha Shanley, Ms. Julie Tragon, Mr. Alex Slemc, Mrs. Kate Herberth, Mrs. Kelly Keefe, Mrs. Jaime Mance, Mrs. Michel Baitt, Mrs. Jackie Titas, Mr. Mike Metz, Mrs. Paula Metz, Mr. Dan Reginelli, and Mrs. Jamie DeSanto.
