Converse Elementary School Expectations:

Second Step:

Eyes Watching.

Ears Listening.

Voices Quiet

Body Still.

PBIS:

Be Safe.

Be Responsible.

Be Respectful.

WHAT IS SECOND STEP?:

Universal, classroom-based, social-emotional learning curriculum for Kindergarten–Grade 5 that nurtures children’s social-emotional competence and foundational learning skills.

WHAT IS PBIS?

Positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS) is an approach schools use to promote school safety and good behavior. With PBIS, schools teach kids about behavior expectations and strategies. The focus of PBIS is prevention, not punishment.

Second Step November Wrap-UP!

This month, the Second Step focus was empathy. During November, students learned about empathy, identifying Feelings, exploring same and different feelings, and showing compassion.

At Converse, it is our goal to help every child identify, understand, and respond in a caring way to how someone is feeling. The Second Step program teaches students how to have empathy and show compassion. When we reinforce students’ empathy and compassion, students will show these skills more outside of Second Step lesson time. When we model empathy and compassion ourselves, it’s easier for our students to do it.

School Store Fundraiser at Converse

We want to personally thank all the families who have already participated in our SchoolStore fundraiser! We are on our way to reaching our goal, but we need everyone's help to make sure our teachers get the essential tools they need to help our students succeed.

If your family has not participated, there's still time!

This safe and easy fundraiser is 100% online so there is no face-to-face selling, collecting money, or delivering products. Your child will receive a prize just for participating, and more prizes will be awarded when goals are reached.

Please help now. It really will make a difference.

Go to https://www.schoolstore.net/sid.t?0000189375 to show our valued teachers your support.
