Weekly Jaguar Update

Some things to keep in mind...

7th Grade Registration Forms are due tomorrow, January 17th. After this date any forms received may be considered late and students are not as likely to get their first choice for scheduling.

Next week in Science we will be starting a new unit on Geography. Monday and Tuesday will be used for vocabulary flashcards and notes. Wednesday- Friday we will be doing a a Model of the Earth project. Students will receive a rubric at the beginning of the week.

Social Studies:

Students are continuing their studies of religions. We have now covered Judaism and Christianity. Students will be learning next week about Islam, Buddhism, and Sikhism. They will be tested on Thursday.

Next week in ELA, we will be turning in our poetry project which will count as two test grades. I have provided 3 and 1/2 class periods for the students to work on this in my room, as well as encouraged them to make use of the option to choose the "homework/study" room instead of computers or crafts during their flex period. If they are not finished by Friday, it will be homework over the three day weekend.

Next week we will share some of the poetry (volunteers only), go over the benchmark, and begin the unit of study over social justice. As always, please contact me if you have any comments, questions, or concerns.

All Math classes are converting between fractions, decimals, and percents. We will review on Jan 21 and then have our first test for this six weeks on Wednesday Jan 22. We will then begin to learn about probability.
