Quality-Plus Teaching Strategy
Grant Deadline is approaching!
Vision, Mission, Goals, Plan of Action! We got this Suwanee!
Local School Plan of Improvement (LSPI)
Implementation Design
- Collaborative Learning Team (CLT) The Suwanee Instructional Leadership team will continue to strengthen their effectiveness at organizing and facilitating grade level collaborative learning teams that render rigorous and differentiated lesson plans aligned to the AKS, develop common assignments, analyze student work, design classwork that aligns to the appropriate leveled descriptor, and continuously analyze student learning growth (data protocols).
- Strengthening Instructional Frameworks with emphasis on QPTS -Teachers will continue to implement the GCPS Balanced Literacy and Gradual Release of Responsibility instructional frameworks and incorporate the Quality-Plus Teaching Strategies strategically. The administration team will complete frequent classroom walk-throughs to monitor implementation and offer feedback to individual teachers. Teachers will attend professional learning during collaborative planning, release days, and district professional learning days to grow a deeper understanding of our instructional frameworks and implementing the most effective Quality-Plus Teaching Strategies with specific learning target
- Instructional Leadership Team Facilitating Effective Professional Learning Communities The learning for ILT is to target highly effective CLT planning strategies that increase student achievement. We will work through assessment data protocols to practice clearly identifying the learning targets that all students are expected to master as well as develop aligned student work. ILT will also engage in developing a planning design to determine student outcomes. This design is the Action for Student Achievement where the team begins with the assessment (student outcomes) and outlines the teacher actions, CLT actions, leaders actions, and student actions. Understanding how to analyze data and create action plans will support the enhancement of student learning.
Results-Based Evaluation System (RBES)
Tips for completing your RBES:
- Utilize our Suwanee LSPI goals to guide your RBES.
-You may use the LSPI goals as your individualize RBES goals if you choose to do so (you can copy and paste from the LSPI). For your implementation plan, think of the instructional practices you are putting into place to reach your RBES goals.
-With the ILT team and the collaborative teams, we have reviewed our Suwanee 2018-2019 data and teachers were given the goals for reaching full points and standard points on our Weighted School Assessment. Utilize this chart to help you create your percentages for student growth.
-The LSPI student data sheet will be attached for your final RBES results.
-If you do not teach Language Arts, how will you incorporate reading strategies in your Social Studies or Science goal?
-RBES is due by the end of the day October 14th.
Details from Duncan
Our 1st graders started checking out Class Library books. Students in 1st grade are now picking 1 library book and 2 class library books when they visit the media center. The class library is a great option if you want your students choosing a book on his/her level. The decision to utilize the class library is a grade level decision. Our patrons can only be edited by grade level, not individual classes. Talk about it with your grade level and if you want to sign-up, come by the media center and see Mrs. Howard or Mrs. Duncan.
The introduction to class library checkout takes only 30 minutes and the students will leave with books that you know will make them better readers!
