The Big Four
The Big Four of WWI was composed of a group of political leaders from Europe and America (In no particluar order): US President Woodrow Wilson, British Prime Minister David Lloyd George, Prime Minister Georges Clemenceau of France, and Vittorio Orlando of Italy. This group frequently held meetings in order to discuss peace terms.
Wilson's Adversary
Henry Cabot Lodge, a Republican politician, strongly opposed president Woodrow Wilson's peace policies during World War One. Lodge did not agree with Wilson's desire for neutrality. Lodge expressed his opposition through his powerful political seat.
"Peace Without Victory"
In a meeting with congress in early 1917, President Woodrow Wilson (pictured above) expressed his desire to settle the conflict in Europe through "peace without victory". This highlighted Wilson's best efforts to stay out of the war.
