Welcome..............to 4th Grade
I'm Excited to Get to Know You Better!
Learning is Personal
Fourth grade teachers are gearing up for a year full of learning adventures! As a district, HSSD is moving toward “Personalized Learning.” We are excited to transform our classrooms to make learning more individualized, engaging and collaborative. Your child’s learning potential will be maximized! Our fourth grade team of teachers, Mrs. Kentop, Mrs. Zavernik, Mrs. Hawker and I will be working together with math instruction. Mrs. Hawker and I will be a collaborative “teaching team” for the other subject areas. This will allow us to make your child’s learning more personal. We are enthusiatic about this change in our teaching practices. We feel fortunate to work with your family this year!

1st Homework Assignment of the Year
Letters can be brought to Open House or the first day of school. Five Timbertail tokens will be awarded to everyone who does their first homework assignment! If it is returned to me at Open House, I will double the tokens. :)
Communication
Remind
If you can, please sign up for REMIND. This tool will allow you to receive text messages or email messages about important upcoming events, reminders, etc. so that you are never out of the loop! This is a safe/secure service where it only allows me to text or message you, no one else has your number or email. It is a positive tool I use in the classroom to inform you quickly. Use this link to sign up today!
Snacks and Water Bottles
Please send a healthy snack and water bottle to school each day with your child. His/her body needs food/water to stay focused on learning! Water is the only liquid permitted in the bottles. Fruit juices, Propel, Gatorade or any other sugary drinks attract ants. I thank you in advance for not sending these to school. Water bottles should also be the kind if knocked over will not spill. We need to be extra careful around the iPads and excessive spilling of water may cause the growth of mold. I'd really appreciate avoiding that.
